这题的破题关键点是看到后半句that的主语是a historical account 。排除了ABC（C里面那个their错了）。E连So。。。as错了，记得没这个方式吧。

必考点是as...as....固定用法和主谓一致 so...as....一般用于否定句，构成not so....as..... 看到选项之间单复数的差异，立马找它的修饰对象。so vivid 显然修饰account,不是centuries，所以动词用单数形式

that定语从句可以跳过前边的介词短语修饰正确的名词，一般都是跳过一个介词短语，但是这道题竟然跳了两个，逻辑意思对没办法…
that修饰account，letters are yielding a account that is，account是单数所以用is。

E 应该是so vivid that，应该是so adj that，没有so…as，有so as to do=in order to do，so adj as to do=so adj that SVO
D as vivid as有比较、像的意思，可以加句子或者名词。（注意，like的比较只能+n）

觉得C vivid in their detail语法上不错，逻辑上错。文章要表达的是historical account在细节上很生动。in the details是修饰is vivid的adverbial modifier，vivid修饰account忙所以details应该是account的details。可以把in等同成in terms of， 就会很自然的用its details。如果their指代的是letters 和documents，语法可以说通，但是变成了表位置的adverbial modifier，意思说account生动出现在letters 和documents里面。illogical

而且解釋錯的好離譜，D是英國出土文物的historical account和龐貝文物收集到的historical account一樣生動。E是英國文物的historical account和龐貝的historical account一樣生動。所以E錯。

i don't see a legitimate antecedent for "that", either. i think the authors are trying to write a sentence in which "that" stands for "historical account", but that doesn't make too much sense -- you can't really have a "historical account gathered" from somewhere. you can have artifacts/scrolls gathered from

修饰成分太多使得句子主干不明。新东方老师说过遇到复杂修饰可以把介宾结构和形容词划掉，就变成“2000 letters and documents are yielding a historical account that...\",显然that修饰后者，不然就跨谓语修饰了，会很奇怪，所以选D不选B
